This home didn't need reinventing so much as reawakening. A 1957 cavity brick & weatherboard house with good bones and a site that falls almost seven metres from front to back, offering more than the original layout ever made use of. The design keeps what earns its place: the original structure stays, its footprint reworked from within to hold a dual-key layout that lets the home work harder without losing its character. A new balcony extends out over the existing garage roof, catching the fall of the land and turning what was dead space into outlook. Inside, terracotta and cream tile, warm timber flooring, and a considered stone selection carry the material story, textures chosen to feel settled rather than staged. A pool sits within the retained footprint, completing a home that was always capable of more, it just needed someone to see it. This project is currently under construction.
